THE NEPAL EARTHQUAKE 2015 A GEOGGERS (GEOGRAPHY CLUB) SPECIAL

THE LOCATION OF NEPAL

EFFECT OF EARTHQUAKES IN L.E.D.CS EARTHQUAKES CAN HAVE A MUCH BIGGER EFFECT ON L.E.D.CS THAN THEY DO ON M.E.D.CS. M.E.D.CS HAVE THE RESOURCES AND MONEY TO DEAL WITH EARTHQUAKES. ALSO THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE CAN SOMETIMES WITH STAND THE EARTHQUAKE.

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE THE RESENT EARTHQUAKE IN NEPAL CAUSED A LOT OF DAMAGE AND KILLED MANY PEOPLE. A U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY HAS ESTIMATED THAT THE EARTHQUAKE CAUSED $5 BILLION OF DAMAGE WHICH IS HALF THE COUNTRIES GDP. THIS COULD BE TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT NEPAL IS A POOR COUNTRY WITH INFRASTRUCTURE THAT DIDN’T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST THE EARTHQUAKE.

L.E.D.CS AND M.E.D.CS M.E.D.CS THAT ARE ON A FAULT LINE WILL USUALLY TRY AND DESIGN BUILDINGS TO WITH STAND EARTHQUAKES
