The Emerging Technologies – Composites Academy This emerging industry already has a turnover of £1bn It has a global growth rate of up to 16% p.a. Broad application rage, from aerospace to medical devices Significant export market

But don’t just take our word “The Industry Gold Standard is absolutely essential if this vital and value-adding sector is to realise its ambitions in an aggressive global market. Without such a standard, there is a danger our industry will lag in productivity terms”. Steve Westhead, Managing Director, Solutia Inc. Newport. “We are a highly capital-intensive industry that needs the people to realise a prosperous future. At Ineos we have also had to make cutbacks in the current climate, but people development has not been one of them. You can’t stop and start Apprenticeship schemes or stop maintaining graduate programmes. We must be trained and ready for growth when the upturn arrives, and the National Skills Academy for the Process Industries is ideally placed to help in this”. Tom Crotty, Chief Executive Officer, INEOS Olefins and Polymers Europe.
