NAME LESHI ABIOLA ROSELYN MATRIC NO 12/SMS02/055 The Recent Advancement and Application on Touch Screen Technology

The Recent Advancement and Application on Touch Screen Technology Touch screen have been available since the days of Cathode Ray Tube but the technology did not catch on consumer until mobile phone makers adopted it to solve the tiny button problem. Now touch screen smart phones constitute the fastest growing market segment. According to display search, shipment of touch screen tablet are forecast to reach 60 million mobile phones touch screen predicted by HIS iSuppli corp. Touch screen have been around for a long time but they were only popular in business and industrial settings such as food service airport kiosk.

The real transition for consumer was when apple moved into smart phones and tablet. Andrew Hsu technology strategist at synaptic inc. said that handset makers used to give us a long list of obstacle to adopting touch screens but when apple introduced the I-phone all those obstacles suddenly seemed surmountable. Synaptic began as an evangelist for the benefit of touchpad as a substitute for a PC mouse.

All the LCD makers are retooling their manufacturing lines to incorporate touch screen sensors directly into their displays a move that would eliminate the need for today’s oem add-ons samsung and Nokia for instance have already integrated touch screen into organic LED display for the respective galaxy S N8 smart phones.

Alternative materials for integrated touch screen sensors are also on the horizon, 3M’s copper-mesh films, repurposed polyethlenedioxythiophene conductive polymers, cambrios technologies clearOhm transparent conductors etc. Android tablet PC are the most recent technological advancement in the world today. It is the most convenient way to browse in the web and get information just by click of a botton. the tablet helps link with friends from all over the world. it is the ability of gadget to check and download music and video with ease speed.

The features of tablet are Portability which means you can carry it anywhere you go. Tablet has no keyboard pads but an inbuilt one on the screen. The screen of the tablet is touch screen. the tablet mostly use the fingers to manoeuvre around or use a special type of pen to do the selection of icon. Fingers also do number of task such as typing, moving of icon and also playing games.

There are five technological advances in consumer electronics posted by Chris Pirillo. they include,  Multi-touch Until recently touch screen were clumsy and inaccurate in general which means that the area of selection need to be wide enough to compensate for the resistive screen. Multi-touch devices have found their way to the consumer market.

This technology allows users to use multiple fingers to create gestures that are translated to command quickly.  3D television It has certainly had impact on the world of consumer electronics. you can actually watch movie at home instead of going to theatre. While 3D technology has been around for sometime, recent advances in how video is captured coupled with a renewed consumer interest has created a lively market for the content.

 HD VIDEO RECORDING We can record and even transmit video in full HD from our phones when even capable of displaying video that by today’s standard is relatively low quantity.  Ultra-low-voltage CPUs What do most smart phones, tablet computer, notebooks and low powered desktops have in common? These microprocessors allow small devices with minimal cooling capabilities to operate with enough computing power.

These microprocessors allows small devices with minimal cooling capabilities to operate with enough computing power to handle a fully-functional OS like Windows or Linux.  Wireless connectivity This involve the process of connecting your phone with your PC by using Bluetooth, use of Wi-Fi which have improved to the point where connections are fast and reliable.

Thanks to popular consumer electronics like the apple iPhone and Nintendo DS, touch screens have experience d sparkling innovation and advances in technology. In 2007 apple launched the iPhone, driving demand for touch screens in other consumer electronics. But many upcoming advances may make touch screens even easier to use everyday. DUAL SCREEN Products with touch screen capabilities also often offer the technology on dual screens. e.g. Acer Iconia which is a small notebook that offers a full touch screen experience

Where web pages can flow fro one screen to another. It also uses gestures memory to track movement to open Web sites when it recognises the movement. The dual touch screen technology is also seen in mobile devices like the Kyocera Echo which has the versatility to run as a tablet, two separate screens. Other touch screen devices apart from smart phones are: ATMs that will soon be transferred to other public places

Touch screen vending machines, they even come with cameras that recognizes gender and age t recommend beverage selections. It also stores your image and purchase history of your next visit.
