PVHS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (Needed for Armed Forces, Community Colleges, Technical Schools, Financial Aid) History 30 Credits (3 years) Modern World History US History Econ/Gov English 40 Credits (4 years) Must take and pass Senior English Math 20 Credits (2 years) Must successfully complete Algebra 1 Science 20 Credits (2 years) Fine Arts/Int. Languages/ Career Tech Ed. 10 Credits (1 year) Electives 75 Credits Health 5 CreditsPhysical Education 20 Credits (2 years) Physical Science Life Science 220 Credits Total OTCR After School to make up deficient credits
“A-G” 4 Year University Requirements A- History (P) 2 Years B- English (P) 4 Years C- Math (P) 3 Years Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Math Analysis, Calculus, Statistics 4 years recommended D- Lab Science (P) 2 Years E- Foreign Language (P) 2 Years F- Visual Performing Arts (P) 1 Year G- Elective (P) 1 Year Physical Science, Life Science Biology, Chemistry, Physics, AP Science classes, etc… All classes must be College Prep (P). Must pass with a grade of “C” or better 2 years of the same foreign language 3 or 4 years recommended **This should be your goal**
Why complete the A-G’s? Completing the A – G requirements ensures that students are: Ready to participate in the first year of college in a broad variety of fields of study. Have attained the necessary preparation for courses, majors, and programs offered at the community college or university Have essential critical thinking and study skills.
