Sustainability at UCSB Green building Requirements: UCOP announced a green building policy in UCSB committed – all buildings programmed after July 1, 2004 would be LEED NC Silver. Pursue certification for existing buildings as the program develops.

Sustainability at UCSB Challenges Ahead Some buildings might not ever meet the energy and water prerequisites –Campus has a variety of building types, Energy Star does not cover them all, utilizing Alternative Compliance Path option Working with building occupants consistently- 25 building, not as much hands on time Adding QC/QA plans to all credits after initial review by USGBC Some buildings are better than others- building performance and occupant motivation varies
