SInet bring together researchers from many disciplines to investigate the development of new concepts, strategies and tools that empower individuals to improve quality of life. SInet research aims to create better futures for people. We hold interesting events/meetings/seminars throughout the year. For more information, check our website SInet is a multi-discliplinary research network across many Faculties of UoW

Food Theme of SInet The theme investigates Food Futures in the Illawarra, draws together researchers, local councils and community organisations to improve quality of life It will develop and consolidate a research network incorporating university groups, community organisations and individuals. Current project is investigating local food issues in Illawarra For more information, contact A/Professor Heather Yeatman

Green Theme of SInet an Environmentally Aware Research Network (EARN) This theme focuses on the topic of environmental responsibility and its implications for business sustainability, at topic which has emerged across several nodes in SInet. Synergies between the research in Accounting, Economics, Information Systems and Management have been identified looking at the business and social impacts of climate change and potential solutions on human enterprises. This core group also has links to Law and Science. We include the University’s own Environment and Sustainability Initiatives Unit in this network to indicate the potential for links of this network between research and practice that may then extend into local external organisations. For more information see or contact A/Prof Helen Hasan, School of Economics,
