TIME AND CLOCK Made for third graders
LET’S LEARN ABOUT TIME There are 24 hours in a day, and these hours are divided into a.m. and p.m. a.m. meaning morning and p.m. meaning afternoon and evening. As soon as it hits 12 midnight it becomes the next day so from p.m. we go to a.m. and it stays a.m. until that day afternoon at 12, then it becomes p.m.
CLOCK There are 12 number on a clock Each number represents the hour and each number also represents every five minute that passes by. There are two hands on a clock Hour hand Minute hand Smaller hand represents the hour Longer hand represents the minute Some clocks even have a third hand to represent the second.
HOUR AND MINUTE Because the minute hand is on 12 and the hour hand is on 7 its just 7 o’clock. Because the hour hand is on 10 and the minute hand is on 2 the time is 10:10 because each number represents 5 minutes that pass by.
