July 23 – How to Calculate ROI of Analytics Abstract Whether you're performing business analytics with small data or big data every project needs to deliver ROI (Return on Investment). This session will focus on teaching participants the fundamentals of ROI calculations. We will include case studies, best practices and common pitfalls to avoid. Presenter Othniel is currently Principal of Excellent Ones Consulting LLC. His firm provides training on finance, Microsoft Excel and creates financial models for businesses. He brings with him a background in finance, training, and information management systems. Prior to opening his own firm, Othniel spent his 13 years in finance at various organizations. His responsibilities included: building financial models, forecasting revenue, developing budgets and analyzing data to support strategic decisions. Othniel previously served on the board of the Association of Talent Development as VP of Finance. He has a BA in Finance with a specialization in Computer Science from SUNY and an MBA in Management Information Systems from Adelphi University. He is also certified as a Microsoft Excel expert. Othniel lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife four children.

In this session you will learn all new and great features of Power BI. You will learn how to work with different data source, and apply Power Query transformation on them. You will learn tricks and tips of modelling with Power BI Desktop, and then how to visualize effectively with this tool. You will also learn how to build dashboards on Power BI website. At the end of this session you will be able to use Power BI for your everyday data analysis as well as organizational data mash up and visualization. So expect lots of demos in this session. Presenter Reza Rad is an Author, Trainer, Speaker and DW/BI Consultant. He has a BSc in Computer engineering; he has more than 15 years’ experience in databases, programming and development mostly on Microsoft technologies. He is a Microsoft MVP in SQL Server for five continues years (from 2011 till now) for his dedication in Microsoft BI.
