Data Product Catalogue for SeaDataNet and Emodnet Chemistry M. Treguer, T. Loubrieu, C. GUYOT, IFREMER

– Requirements Data product catalog for SeaDataNet and Emodmet chemistry : gridded analysis, climatology, qualified collection of observations. For example: qualified sea level observations on european seas for the last 100 years with standard vertical reference. climatology maps (grids) of sea water temperatures on the bay of biscay

– Background Main software component is « geonetwork » (opensource) for metadata management of geo- spatial datasets. Similar usages consolidated (expertise, code) into IFREMER « Sextant » project, at national and EU level : – EMODNET chemistry, hydrography – SeaDataNet – MYOCEAN2 – MFSD (Marine Strategy Framework Directive)

– Functionalities Metadata editing Product discovery Integration with OceanBrowser Interoperability : ISO19139, CSW

– Seadatanet and Emodnet chemistry catalogue Emodnet Chemistry: Catalogue : CSW : EMODNET_Chemistry?SERVICE=CSW&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION =2.0.2http://sextant.ifremer.fr/geonetwork/srv/eng/csw- EMODNET_Chemistry?SERVICE=CSW&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION =2.0.2 SeaDatanet Catalogue : CSW : SEADATANET?SERVICE=CSW&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION=2.0.2http://sextant.ifremer.fr/geonetwork/srv/eng/csw- SEADATANET?SERVICE=CSW&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION=2.0.2

– EMODNET example

– SeaDataNet example

– Update metadata Semi-automatic: – DIVA to Sextant (geonetwork) – DIVA automatically creates a full product description (parameters, extents, vertical levels, originator…) uploaded to the catalogue. – If needed manual editing Manual editing – Online forms are provided.

– Workflow Editors create, update product descriptions Data manager/producer Reviewers validate metadata completeness and homogeneity before publication SeaDataNet : INGV and CLS as support Emodnet chemistry : OGS (Ifremer can do support if needed)

– View the product description See detailed description Need to be improved

– Integration with OceanBrowser Catalogue to OceanBrowser From the product description, the user can jump to the ad hoc directory in the oceanBrowser (where DIVA datasets are uploaded and available) View (WMS) Download (link to opendap and netcdf files)

– Integration with OceanBrowser/DIVA OceanBrowser to Catalogue Metadata creation (DIVA) Link to catalogue (metadata description)

– Schedule, tasks Test DIVA to sextant/geonetwork ISO19139 : 04/2014 (ULG/Ifremer) Improve metadata presentation : 04/2014 (Ifremer) Consolidate the Emodnet chemistry schema :04-05/2014 (Ifremer/OGS) Adopt the seadatanet product schema/profile (D8.1) Add new parameter (P35), … Feed systems with products SeaDataNet (INGV) Emodnet Chemistry (OGS)
