The Member’s Benevolent Trust The MBT Registered Charity No Supporting Members of IOM3 Can you help the MBT?

The MBT is an independent charity (No ) devoted to the relief of members, retired members and their dependents. It works closely with the IOM3 membership department to identify need and the Institute helps with the collection of donations via the Gift Aid scheme. More details and copies of recent annual reports can be found on

 A member’s family with respite care  An unemployed member access training  The widow of an overseas member  Members’ widows with additional help at Christmas  A family with two disabled children buy an adapted car  A member buy a large TV for his bedridden wife Do you know of a colleague or their family who might need help? The MBT has recently helped

How Local Societies can support the MBT  Raise awareness at your meetings  Identify potential beneficiaries  Organise a fund raising event, such as a raffle  Recruit a volunteer to be a regional MBT visitor  Nominate a candidate to become a Trustee

Recent support from Local Societies The Midlands Institute of Mining Engineers raised £500 at their annual dinner MinSouth raised £465 at their annual dinner The Merseyside Packaging Society donated £300

At MBT AGM on 2 nd July 2012, there will be vacancies to be filled on the Board of Trustees Nominations for election to the Board are invited from the membership of the Institute.
