2nd – 3rd of February 2012, Kick-off Meeting - Pitesti (ROMANIA) INTRODUCTION GIE performed a desk research to identify: (a)institutions/organisations providing services for children with disabilities and/or services for families in difficult/divorce situations; (b)VET-programmes which automatically qualify to work with children with disabilities and counselling families in divorce situations The team was composed of 5 persons The research took longer as expected We noticed a strong difference regarding the number and variety of institutions and programmes: - institutions/organisations offering services for disabled children; - institutions/organisations providing counselling for families in difficult/divorced situation; - VET programmes 2

2nd – 3rd of February 2012, Kick-off Meeting - Pitesti (ROMANIA) DESCRIPTION(1) 3 The complex of services for children with disabilities Trivale is an institution under the coordination of DGASPC-Arges and is located at Frasinului street, no. 10, Piteşti; Director: Maria TANASE (Tel. 0248/ ; 0348/430305) The complex provides 3 services, offering quality services at European standards: - Residential Center - Day Care Center -Rehabilitation Center Facilities and endowments: Residential Center: 3 dormitories with compartments; bathrooms; 2 rooms for educational activities; 1 kitchen; 1 dinning room; 2 storehouses for food and equipments; Day care Centre: 2 dormitories; 2 rooms for educational activities; Rehabilitation Center: 2 psychological offices; 1 speech therapy office; 1 medical office; 1 ergo therapy office; 2 occupational therapy offices; 1 kinetho-therapy office; 1 swimming pool.

DESCRIPTION(2) 5 Principles: - respecting and promoting with high priority the superior interests of the child - equal opportunities and non-discrimination - supporting a positive attitude towards the child’s potential, highlighting his/her success and recognizing his/her progress - the principle of partnership between professionals and parents - affirming and promoting the integration of children with disabilities and of their families in the local community as active members of it - ensuring the confidentiality and professional ethics

DESCRIPTION(3) 7 Objectives: General: improving the services of the day center offered to children with associated severe and neuro-motor disabilities through individualized educational and rehabilitation programs. Specific: - stimulating the development of child autonomy in everyday life; - proper planning of educational, habilitation and rehabilitation services; - promoting social integration; - collaborating with families in center’s programs in order to achieve defined objectives; - ensuring an adequate nutrition; - maintaining the health of children and preventing disease; - organizing recreational activities, trips and camps.

DESCRIPTION(4) 9 The Complex of Services for Children with Disabilities - Trivale provides complex activities supported by a multidisciplinary team: habilitation-rehabilitation, recreation, socialization, music therapy, aroma-therapy, play therapy, ergo therapy, speech therapy, psychological counseling, social education, kinetho- therapy. The Complex of Services is specialized depending on the beneficiary's disability and the specialized staff work individually and based on a deep investigation of each child / parent case.

2nd – 3rd of February 2012, Kick-off Meeting - Pitesti (ROMANIA) CONCLUSION 11 DisVorced Project is necessary for Romania, as such a common approach in which disabled children and families in difficult/divorce situation to be: supported counselled and provided with specialised and customised services does not exist yet on a large scale and it would be in their great benefit!
