D D L S S METHOD Ways to connect and analyze the quote DICTION – word choice, phrases within the quote you address specifically DETAILS – specific evidence revealed in the quote. Places, people, support, etc LANGUAGE – tone, punctuation, style, point of view SYNTAX – sentence structure, sentence type (descriptive, short, concise, etc) SYMBOLISM – description of significant symbols found in the quote

DO SECOND Think about the quotes you have chosen for your body paragraph outline In what ways can you incorporate at least 2 of the aspects of DDLSS to analyze your quote thoroughly and use it as evidence to support your paper topic Incorporate these notes into the analysis of your quote for your typed paragraph
