What is computer vision Syndrome? Computer Vision Syndrome or CVS describes a group of symptoms like Dry eyes, Eye strain etc. caused by prolonged computer usage. WHAT CAUSES CVS? There are a number of factors that determine the amount of strain your body feels as you work on a computer, including lighting in the room, distance from the screen, glare on the screen, seating posture, and the angle of your head – not to mention any existing vision problems you may have. One or all of these may combine to cause an uncomfortable amount of strain on your eyes. http://www.gkboptical.com

Why we are concern about (cvs) Presently, a huge population spend long hours on computers for work purpose or for surfing Social Networking sites. Lots of people who spend sufficient time on computers, laptops have faced eyestrain, headache and other CVS symptoms. This problem also effect productivity by 4 to 19% http://www.gkboptical.com

What are the symptoms of cvs? Eyestrain Blurred Distant Vision Fatigue Dry or Irritated Eyes Headache Neck and/or Backaches Blurred Near Vision Diplopia (Double Vision) http://www.gkboptical.com

Problems Due to cvs Prolonged exposure to computers is not healthy for human optical system. It decrease blinking rate. Approximately we blink 22 times/minutes, whereas while using computers, we blink only 4 to 6 times. Lower blinking leads to dry eyes . Many people sit in either one poster for long time or in wrong posture, this leads to stiff necks and pain in shoulders. http://www.gkboptical.com

Steps to reducing computer eyestrain Get an eye exam and wear glasses even if you have a minor power. Make sure your room is properly lit, too bright or too dim light may cause eye strain. Adjust the brightness of your computer screen. Blink often. Use lubricating eye drops for dry eyes. Always wear computer glasses to eliminate glares. Exercise for eyes Take frequent breaks http://www.gkboptical.com

solution and suggestion Buy one computer glasses and always wear them while using computers. Drink plenty of water. Take frequent breaks at small intervals like after 20-30 minutes. Do easy exercises for your eyes like 20-20-20 ruleTromboning Exercise. Splash water on eyes during breaks, this will help in cooling the eyes. Choose font color of your system carefully, preferably work with dark fonts on light background and vice-versa. Blink purposely. Eat healthy diet full of Vitamin C. http://www.gkboptical.com
