The Schoolyear and holidays  The academic year in Hungary is made up of 2 terms. (1. Sept-Jan 2. Jan-Jun)  Summer holiday from the middle of June to the end of August.  Autumn holiday in October( 1 week).  Winter holiday in December (2 weeks) before the second term. (Christmas holiday)  Spring holiday in April. (Easter holiday)

Our motto  ’Everyone is talented for different pursuits’  The main guideline in our pedagogical programme is a child-centred educative aspect. Our principle is the competent improvement of pupils’ individual abilities.  Besides languages arts and sports play important roles in the life of our school.

Students have to take an exam of Literature and Grammar, Mathematics, History, one foreign language and one subject of the student choice (this can be anything that they have learned before.) The matura examination assesses knowledge in five grades: excellent(5), good(4), satisfactory(3), pass(2), fail(1). Each student who passes their final exams receives a document that contains their grades and which formally enables them to go to a university. Matura examination

Extra-curricular Activities  Our pupils can take up a sport, go to a choir, go on school excursions, take an active part in clubs (media, films, newsletter) and other out- of-school activities.  Our school has a drama society. It performs plays and takes part in festivals. We also go to the theatre to watch English plays.

Festivals and balls  Every autumn there are Kodo Days when a king of school is crowned and plenty of activities are organised by pupils.  Every spring there is an Art Festival when every student or club can show which art he or she is successful in.  Freshmen’s ball and school-leavers’ ball also provide opportunity to perform arts (music, singing, dancing, drama, performing poetry or prose)
