Civil Rights Projects for Honors and Gifted Period 4—Poster Period 6--Diorama Due Date: DAY AFTER SPRING BREAK 3/29 Select any moment in Non-Violent protest for Civil Rights in any country and time period except for Montgomery Bus Boycott It should be a NON-VIOLENT PROTEST (even if it ended violently, do not show the violent part). Poster---11x17 poster (can use construction paper)---Poster must include Name of Civil Rights Moment, Time Period (date), Location, At least one picture of protest, 1-paragraph summary about why they are protesting, Results (did the people involved gain the civil rights they were asking for? Montgomery Bus Boycott Poster Sample Montgomery, Alabama Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger. Martin Luther King Jr. organized the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 to protest segregated public transportation. For over a year, citizens in Mongtomery refused to take the buses. Instead, they walked or carpooled. The bus company lost a lot of money. The Supreme Court voted to end segregated busing in 1956.
