Identify a way of comparing countries Number of inhabitants per infocentre x region = Inhabitants/Infocentre Size of region by number of inhabitants Category 1: 0-99 thousand Category 2: 100 thousand thousand Category 3: 300 thousand thousand Supply indicators 1.Idenfity common feature in the definition of access point Access point has the backing of a government programme Category 4: 500 thousand thousand Category 5: one million - two million Category 6: two million P:\ENG\ITU-D\BDT\PSF\MEF\TDS\MEX04\16_OSILAC_E.PPT11

Standardization of indicators Average inhabitants per infocentre according to size of regional/provincial population 3. Derive the indicator i = number of regions with population size j j = 1, …, N ; N = number of possible population sizes P:\ENG\ITU-D\BDT\PSF\MEF\TDS\MEX04\16_OSILAC_E.PPT12
