Restructure of Training Packages

Background to change 2009 – NQC and COAG released report ‘VET Products for the 21 st Century’ which included recommendations related to improving training packages December 2010 – NQC (replaced by NSSC) endorsed model for ‘streamlining’ units of competency. Aim was to shorten, simplify and segment training packages At that time all training packages were to be changed to the new model by June 2012 so ‘streamlining’ began according to draft model 2011 – Development of Standards for Training Packages to replace Training Package Development Handbook which were endorsed in November January 2014 – No more training packages endorsed in traditional format 1 January 2015 – Qualifications must align with AQF 31 December 2015 – All training packages must comply with NSSC Standards for Training Packages
