Review Questions

What is an artisan?  This is a term for a skilled worker.

What is cultural diffusion?  This is the term for the spread of culture and ideas from one place to another.

What is Africa?  This is the continent on which humans first appeared.

What is Neolithic?  This word means “New Stone Age.” It is the time period where groups settled down and started to grow food.

What are surplus food, government and division of labor?  These are the three characteristics of a civilization.

What are a hominid (human-like creature) and a HomoSapien (person who can think) ?  Match the following terms with the correct definition. Hominid-Means a person who can think Homosapien-Means a fully evolved person - Means a human- like creature
