Welcome to (MAP) 2014 winter meeting J.P.Delahaye MAP Collaboration (FNAL, May 31, 2014)1 SLAC: Dec 2-6,
Muon Accelerator Program 2014 Winter Collaboration Meeting J.P.Delahaye MAP seminar (October 24, 2014)2 A meeting of the collaboration working on muon accelerator concepts will be held at SLAC Dec 3-7, A meeting of the collaboration working on muon accelerator concepts will be held at SLAC Dec 3-7, The meeting will focus on recent progress in muon accelerator R&D as well as discuss how efforts in this area will evolve given recent recommendations from the HEPAP P5 panel and the Accelerator R&D panel. The workshop will consist of plenary sessions covering developments in accelerator design and technology required to enable muon capabilities, the physics potential for precision neutrino sources and colliders based on these capabilities, and the concepts for a staged deployment of these capabilities. The final day will have a dedicated session where we will discuss the path forward for muon accelerator research. Invitation to MAP collaboration Sent: Tuesday, October 14, :57 AM To: map_collab Dear Collaborators, This is to let you know that there will be a MAP Collaboration Meeting at SLAC Dec. 3-7, Given the excellent progress that has been made since the last MAP Collaboration meeting, we will have much to discuss. The tentative agenda (still very much a work in progress) is available at A general information page, with a registration links will be announced as soon as available. The meeting will consist of overview and focus talks, including talks from young researchers on their recent accomplishments. Topics will include: * recent developments in accelerator design and technology required to enable muon capabilities, * the physics potential for precision neutrino sources and colliders based on these capabilities, and * the concepts for a staged deployment of these capabilities. We will also discuss the development of a path forward for muon accelerator capabilities, taking into account the recent changes to MAP. Topics will include: * the 1-year close-out of the Initial Baseline Selection process, * documenting what has been accomplished both in publications and on the Fermipoint site, * plans for the expedited MICE final configuration, and * proposals for transfer of selected MAP activities to the DOE/OHEP General Accelerator R&D program. So we hope to see as many of you there as possible! The weather and the company should both be excellent!
