USB Port Bracket Presented by: Elizabeth Roach, Filbert Giovanni, Elijah Lazar, Simran Soni April 26, 2016 Professor: Junfeng Ma

Design Background 4 major areas that comprise Lockheed Martin: Aeronautics Information systems & global solutions Missiles and fire controls Mission systems and training Data Processors are an essential aspect of their work Need to be able to connect multiple devices to their computers Multiple usb ports are used for each device backup Design Task: To design a bracket for mounting that can hold multiple usb ports

Mission Statement Design a new USB bracket that encompasses the requirements given by Lockheed Martin Product Description/Key Business GoalsA 7-port USB bracket than can be vertically mounted with strong cable retention, and can withstand high vibrations Primary Market/StakeholdersLockheed Martin AssumptionsUSB bracket placed for a relatively long time

Concept Generation Stacking Slots Lego style Cylindrical screwing Cable retention Zip Tie to post Clamps Tube for power cable Shock absorption Gel Suspension system Rubberized bottom ●Temperature control ○Space out usbs ○Water cooling system ○Fans

ANALYTICAL HIERARCHY PROCESS

Concept Selection ●Stacking: Stacking slots ●Cable Retention: Tube behind the hubs for power lines and zip ties for front lines ●Shock Absorption: Rubberized bottom using washers ●Temperature control: Spaced out USB hubs

Existing Solutions USB Bracket - Port Locking and Blocking Device

Innovative Points/Design Encompasses all of the required components Vertical mounting Temperature control Stack at least 3 7 usb ports per hub

Difficulties Secure connections between parts Vibration control Front cable retention Temperature regulation
