IGCC Context April 29, 2011 The IGCC is not a rating system, nor is it intended to replace them. The IGCC is code which is intended to be adopted on mandatory basis. Unlike most rating systems, the IGCC primarily consists of minimum mandatory requirements, just as other I-Codes.

Scope and Intent Consistent and coordinated with the ICC family of Codes & Standards Applicable to the construction of New and existing buildings All buildings other than residential buildings under the scope of the IRC Intended to be enforced primarily by building officials – a system already in place nation wide Intended to drive green building into everyday practice

IGCC Development Schedule IGCC PV 1.0 posted for public comment March 15 to May 14, Public comments posted July 2, Public hearings to review public comments to PV 1.0 held August 14 to 22, PV 2.0 posted for public comments November 3, 2010, with comments due by January 3, IGCC Code Development Hearing May 16 through 22, 2011, Dallas, Texas. A Final Action Hearing November 3 through 6, 2011, Phoenix, Arizona, in conjunction with the 2011 ICC Annual Conference The first edition of the IGCC is scheduled to be published in early 2012.

Concepts ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES Standard also is offered as a jurisdictional compliance option. The Standard is included with the IGCC. Adoption of the Standard occurs via the local jurisdiction adoption process.
