Your Resume Questions What is a Resume? A resume tells a potential employer... Why do I need a resume? How can a resume help me? When and how do I use a resume?

Types of Resumes Reverse Chronological Used when job experiences closely parallel the position for which they are applying No lapse between employment Functional Used to place things in order of importance rather than chronological order Ignore experiences that do not relate to the job you are applying for Skills Resume Emphasizes WHAT you do Good for people who have gained valuable skills from a variety of unrelated experiences.

Assignment Each student will prepare their own resume for their internship. Use Microsoft Word to create your resume. No Templates!!! Use your practice page as a guide/help. Decide upon which type of resume you need. Three copies of rough drafts will be due the next day class meets.
