The Covenant of Salt

YOU are the SALT! Matthew 5:13 Jesus said: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

Salt is a symbol of purity and preservation from corruption. Salt is a symbol of personal holiness.

You are called to live a holy life before God – set apart to Him – and not to allow yourself to be corrupted by the world!

Jesus is the Bread John 6:47,48 Jesus said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.

The Bread became flesh Matthew 26:26 “And as they were eating, Jesus took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take eat; this is My body.”

Two kinds of Righteousness Jesus - the living bread: Imputed Righteousness by Grace Salt: Personal Righteousness, a clean and holy life

GOD, HIMSELF, STANDS BY THE SALT COVENANT 2 Chron 13:4,5 “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel: Should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?

The Covenant of Salt is for You today! You are the salt and salt produces thirst. Believers should thirst for God and their lives should create a thirst for God in others.

Examine your life for: #1 Imputed Righteousness – have you received the free gift of righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ? #2 Personal Righteousness – Are you living a holy life?

Be the salt of the earth!
