About Ceremonies  Official Ceremonies are a source of pride, identity and tradition among FFA members and chapters.

Their Purpose  Ceremonies emphasize the purpose of meetings, the duties of officers, and the significance of recognition given to individuals.

Execution  All ceremonies are to be memorized, rehearsed and conducted with pride and dignity.  Always remember – you and your chapter are on display.  Your performance should reflect sincerity and professionalism.

The Script  You will each be given an official Opening/Closing Script from which to prepare  We will go over the entire opening/closing script as a class.

“FFA Members, why are we here?” All members stand at 3 taps of the gavel.  To practice brotherhood, honor agricultural opportunities and responsibilities and develop those qualities of leadership which an FFA member should possess” (sit down at 1 tap of gavel)

Alameda-Solano Section Opening/Closing Contest!  You will have the opportunity to participate in our Sectional O/C contest in DIXON on ________!!  If you choose to participate, you will receive FFA Activity credits!  Brentwood FFA could be the BEST!!!

Your Task  In your assigned group, you will choose officers and then rehearse the Official Opening/Closing Ceremony.  Your entire group must have your parts memorized by ________  We will then participate in a class competition!  Bronze, Silver, Gold prizes will be given!! Extra Credit to the winning team!
