Year 5/Year 6 Reaching their potential and moving on.
Think carefully PESE test is designed to identify the children best suited to a grammar education. Not all children will cope at Grammar school. All children do not need to sit the test. The test day is rigorous and the appeal process leaves children uncertain for a long time. Most Secondaries have grammar streams in which their more able pupils flourish.
Graduate with Pride A succesful end to their time at Primary School. End of year statutory assessments official measure to show if your child has worked to their full potential. Transition programme residential etc. Certificates and leavers service.

This year’s tests will be: a) English and Maths Test 2016 in multiple choice format (c.60 minutes plus admin time, two separate sections each with introductory practice items, English first); b) Reasoning Test 2016 in multiple choice format (c.60 minutes plus admin time, one Verbal Reasoning section and five Non-Verbal, separately timed with introductory practice items.) Pupils will also be required to complete a writing exercise under test conditions which will take 40 minutes. This will NOT be marked and is not something which will affect a pupil’s standardised score: it is simply to ensure that at least one good, extended sample of a pupil’s unaided written work is available should his or her assessment require further consideration. Test Day A familiarisation paper is available on the Kent website ( and the papers themselves will have introductory drills and practice questions, but there are no practice tests.

The SCAF You can name four schools we would strongly recommend that you use all four preferences. If any of your named schools receive more applications than there are places available your application is assessed against that schools over subscription criteria.
Disagree with assessment? If your intention is to appeal you must name the school you are hoping for on your CAF form. Only then can you ask an independent appeal panel to consider whether there might be a reason to admit your child. Appeal forms will be included in your offer of a place on 1st March 2017.
