(roughly about 17th century) PPersonal Information Born Marid, 1959 Brother of Fransico Rizi In 1628, he entered Benedictine Order, studied in Salamanca. He died at Monte Cassino in 1675.

3 Slide 3 Continued: Timeline of Fray Juan Rizi 17th century (Baroque Period) 1600’s 1700’s Fray Juan Rizi was born in Madird 1595 He enters the Benedictine Order, studies in Salamanca He becomes the head of the monks He created art works for Saint Juan Bautista in Burgos, Saint Martin in Madrid, and Monte Cassino in Italy. Then he had gone to Rome, where he was made an Archbishop by pope Clement X. He dies at Monte Cassino. 1675

Slide 3: Accomplishments  He had created art works for Saint Bautista, Saint Martin, and Monte Cassino.  His beauty of art show how Baroque period was important.

Slide 4: Qualities  Fray Juan Rizi had been a friend with other famous painters such as Juan Bautista Mayno.  Even though he was born in rough environment, he was able to reach his goal.

Slide 5: Your Choice  When this painter was born, 17th century, the environment for Fray Juan Rizi was rough. Baroque artistic period was on-going, plus, the black death was approching.

Conclusion  Fray Juan Rizi was a painter in the 17th century who had achieved his ends. He created art works for Saint Martin, Saint Bautista, and Monte Cassino. At this time, life was very tough trying to get over with plague. One big event that was going on was called, the Baroque Period.
