WHO I AM I AM A MOTHER OF TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN WHO MAKE MY WORLD GO AROUND. MY SON IS 13, AND MY DAUGHTER IS 11 AND THEY ARE THE BEST THINGS THAT HAVE EVER HAPPENED TO ME. I AM A GRADUATE OF ASHFORD C/O I HAVE MY BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION, WITH A MINOR IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT. I HAVE OVER 15 YEARS WORKING IN CHILDCARE; FROM ASSISTANT TEACHER TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. I AM A LOVER OF LIFE. I ENJOY READING, GOING TO THE MOVIES AND MUSEUEMS WITH MY CHILDREN. LAUGHTER IS THE BEST REMEDY FOR ANYTHING, SO I LOVE TO THINK THAT I MAKE OTHERS LIVES FEEL AS GOOD AS I DO.

MY ULTIMATE GOALS IN LIFE IS TO HAVE A FEW OF MY OWN DAYCARE CENTERS; BEING MY OWN BOSS! MOST IMPORTANTLY, I WANT MY CHILDREN TO ALSO BE SUCCESSFUL IN WHATEVER ENDEAVORS THEY EMBARK ON. AND I WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THAT!

WHAT DOES NAHKIAH DO? I VOLUNTEER AT MY DAUGHTER’S SCHOOL DAILY. I TEACH AT A DAYCARE FACILITY; PRESCHOOLERS, TWO’S AND THREE’S I HAVE BEEN IN CHILDCARE FOR OVER 15 YEARS. ANYWHERE FROM BABIES TO HIGHSCHOOLERS. I LOVE THIS PROFESSION!

AS A CHILD, I ATTENDED ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS, FROM KINDERGARTEN TO HIGH SCHOOL. THAT IS WHERE I MET ALL OF MY FRIENDS WHOM I AM STILL FRIENDS WITH 20+ YEARS LATER SCHOOL AS I KNOW IT!

KEY INGREDIENTS TO MY SCHOOL SUCCESS ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL WAS WHEN I DEVELOPED MY SENSE OF WHO I WAS AND WANTED TO BE IN LIFE THERE WAS NOT JUST ONE KEY EXPERIENCE DURING MY TIME IN SCHOOL. IT WAS THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE THAT LED ME DOWN THE ROAD I AM ON NOW. I TRULY UNDERSTAND AND CAN APPRECIATE WHAT ALL OF MY TEACHERS WENT THROUGH IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE BEST EDUCATIONAL TOOLS POSSIBLE FOR THEIR STUDENTS. HIGH SCHOOL ALLOWED ME TO ESTABLISH MYSELF WITHIN MYSELF AND MY PEERS IT WAS DURING HIGH SCHOOL THAT I TRULY UNDERSTOOD INDEPENDENCE. NOT JUST ONE EXPERIENCE, BUT MANY THROUGHOUT MY TIME THAT HAVE MOLDED ME INTO THE WOMAN, MOTHER, STUDENT, FRIEND, AND WIFE THAT I AM TODAY.

IN THE FUTURE, VERY NEAR FUTURE, I WILL HAVE MY OWN DAYCARE. MY POSITION IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BE THE OWNER. I TEACH MY CHILDREN TO NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS, AND STRIVE TO BE THE BEST AT WHATEVER THEY DECIDE TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES! NAHKIAH’S FUTURE

MY MASTER’S DEGREE WILL ALLOW ME TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT I HAVE DONE MY DUE DILLIGENCE. ALLOW ME TO INSTILL UPON CHILDREN WHAT I HAVE COME TO LEARN! I AM ACCOMPLISHED! I HAVE MY MASTER’S
