Is Jesus Really Going To Return? It is a well documented event – Matthew 24:35-37 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

Is Jesus Really Going To Return? John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Is Jesus Really Going To Return? Acts 1:10-11 “And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Is Jesus Really Going To Return? – (Luke 21:27) Coming with power & great glory. – (Revelation 1:7) Coming with clouds, every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. – (Matthew 24:27) His coming will be like lightning coming. – Many more, Matthew 16:27, Hebrews 9:27, 2Peter 3:10, Revelation 22:12,20.

Who Is He Coming Back For? Everyone – Romans 14:11-12 “For it is written: ‘As I live, says the L ORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God. So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” – Revelation 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.”

Who Is He Coming Back For? Good or Bad, no exceptions. – John 5:28-29 “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” – Acts 24:15 “I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.”

When Is He Coming Back?

The Bible leaves the specifics, year, month, day, date & time unanswered – Matthew 24:35-37 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” – Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

When Is He Coming Back? Jesus doesn’t even know – Mark 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

When Is He Coming Back? Let’s run the logic on this… – Jesus, not knowing when He will return… – sent the Holy Spirit, who does not know either… – to inspire the writers of the Bible with hints and clues that give away Jesus returning… – the same clues that have been used yet miss the date for the last 2,000 years. – If so, we figured out something Jesus couldn’t! – That time should be spent in preparation!

When Is He Coming Back? He WILL, however, come at the end of time – Matthew 13:40-43 “Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

When Is He Coming Back? Wouldn’t it be nice to know – We’d put it off – Most will – Luke 17:26-30 “And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.”

When Is He Coming Back? God knows how we think, He knows our tendencies He knows it’s be best if we don’t know

Conclusion 2 nd half: – Misconceptions – Will Jesus return to this earth when He comes back? – Do Israel & Palestine have anything to do with it? – Is the 1,000 year reign legitimate? – What will it be like?

Jesus promised to return – 2Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – God doesn’t want anyone to be lost – He is a patient God – But Jesus will return to judge the righteous and the wicked, we need to be ready

When the Jews of Acts 2:38 realized they needed to prepare, Peter told them to “Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins” Are you ready for Jesus coming?
