What About The Heart and Bones? Osteoporosis -losing estrogen around the time of menopause causes women to begin to lose more bone than is replaced Heart disease- Changes in estrogen levels may be part of the cause

How To Stay Healthy After Menopause? 1 Don’t smoke-it’s never too late to benefit from quitting smoking 2 Eat a healthy diet-low in fat, high in fiber, with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain foods, as well as all the important vitamins and minerals. 3 Do weight-bearing exercise, such as walking, jogging or dancing.

4 Get regular pelvic and breast exams, Pap tests, and mammograms 5 Keep a positive and optimistic mood. Contact your psychologist if necessary.

New foundings 1 NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Women who go through menopause in their early 40s may have a slightly higher risk of death later in life compared with their peers, a large U.S. study suggests.

2 Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is still the most effective treatment available for menopausal symptoms-it is not without risk and should not be used to prevent other diseases According to the new guidelines: (1) Combination hormone therapy containing both estrogen and progestin may have small but significant increased risk of breast cancer, heart attack, stroke, and blood clots.

(2) Estrogen-alone therapy (ET)-increased risks of blood clots and stroke&cancer of the uterus (3) Combined HRT or ET should take the smallest effective dose for the shortest possible time and annually review the decision to take hormones.

That’all Thank you for your listening!
