What is the Leadership Academy? A training and development programme for students who are actively seeking to increase their leadership skills either in their school or in the local community. You will become part of a core workforce of coaches / leaders for your SGO area Why me? Experience in leadership either in school or the community or identified by the PE department as having good leadership qualities. What do I get from the programme? Training and qualifications Experience to add to UCAS form and / or CV Opportunity to work with pupils in other partnership schools / colleges Contacts for community voluntary placements Certificates for 50, 100, 200 hours logged on the SiS Volunteer Passport T-Shirt to wear whilst volunteering 2012 related programme opportunities

What is School Games? In the run up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, your school has the chance to boost your existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all your students. The School Games is a celebration of competitive sport that will involve all young people in years 3 to 13, of all abilities and backgrounds.

Step into Sport S TEP INTO SPORT is an exciting free initiative which offers young people (14-19yrs old) the chance to continue their involvement in leadership and sports volunteering. The scheme provides a structured pathway for you to develop your interest in sport and become actively involved in running sport within the local community.

How to log onto your Step into Sport Passport Visit and click on ‘Register Today’
Select which age bracket you fall into and click ‘Continue’
Type in the name of your school / college and select your school from the drop down menu
Check the address of the school and select your School Mentor from the list
Fill in your personal details
Complete log in details and set your own password
Review and confirm all of your details are correct
CONGRATULATIONS You have now set up your SiS account You will receive an with your login details You cannot start logging your hours until your School Mentor has verified your account
Task: In your groups plan a School Games day for your school? Consider the following points: Who would be involved? What support would you need? How would you make it inclusive? How would you ensure the whole school is involved? What cultural elements would you include?
Graduation On completion you will be invited to attend a graduation ceremony at a world famous London Sporting Arena – date tbc
