Mercantilism firstly originated in Britain. It sprouted in the 14 th century, appeared in the 15 th century and achieved great development in the 16 th and 17 th centuries. Mercantilism is bounded by the middle of the 16th century, which divides it into early mercantilism and late mercantilism. Mercantilism accelerated the economic rise of western European countries, having a profound influence on the development of world politics and economy.
