Where Do I Find the Information? You must use at least 2 sources in English. You may use one source in Hebrew but this is not recommended. You can find information on the Internet, in the library, in magazines, on TV programs (The History Channel or Channel 8). You must print or photocopy your sources and include them in the project.

How Do I Get Started? Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales 1. You will be introduced to the two general subjects: “ Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales ”, and “ Making the World a Better Place ”. 2. You will choose a topic out of the list that the class will prepare. 3. You will look for information on your topic. 4. You will receive a schedule of assignments that will help you.

Following the Assignments Schedule Each assignment or task will be a small step in the process of writing your project. Handing in the tasks on time will help you organize your time and finish the project on time. Handing in tasks on time is part of the project grade.

Preparing the Topics List In groups, you will brainstorm about each general topic. Brainstorming a topic means writing down every possible idea that comes up. The ideas will be organized into two separate lists. If you have an idea connected to the topic that is not on the list, you first must get the teacher ’ s approval.

Task One Choose a topic from the list you will get. Everyone must write on a different topic. Look up the topic in the library or on the Internet and read the source. Write 5 important pieces of information about your topic. Write a WH question for each fact.

Sample: Choosing a Topic The topic is: Bill Clinton Five facts and questions: 1. He met President John Kennedy in 1963 and in the same year heard Martin Luther King ’ s speech “ I Have a Dream ”.Both events influenced him in his future career. What happened in 1963 that influenced Clinton in the future? 2. He studied Foreign Service and went to Yale Law School. What did Clinton study at the university?

Sample: Choosing a Topic 3. Clinton came from the State of Arkansas and was elected governor two times. What was the beginning of Clinton ’ s political career? 4.Clinton is a very popular public figure because of his personal charisma. Why is Clinton so popular with the public? 5.The U.S. economy was very good during the time Clinton was president. What was a positive result of Clinton being president?

The Stages of the Project(1) Choose the topic you want to write about. Collect the information and print the material. Read the material and take notes. Organize the notes and write the first copy (draft) of the research paper.

The Stages of the Project (2) Hand in the first copy of the research paper to be checked by the teacher. Correct the first copy and write the final research paper. Organize the project for presentation Hand the project in ON TIME.

To Help You … All the information and pages connected to the project (including this presentation) are on the school site: 1. מרכז לימודי 2. מרחב אנגלית 3. המרחב של נינה th Grade Project

Good Luck!
