SUBJECT PRONOUNS There are only two times when subject pronouns are used. 1)When the pronoun is the subject of the sentence She studied for the test. 2) When the pronoun is a predicate nominative that comes after a linking verb and renames the subject of the sentence The winner of the contest was she.
