WHAT IS STEM? Cabarrus County Needs Our Help!

Problem Cabarrus County is welcoming in 2 new Magnet STEM Schools into the area, Beverly Hills Elementary and R. Brown McAllister. The teachers and students at these schools are wondering how things are going to change next fall. Cabarrus County Schools marketing department is short staffed, and need our help. Since you are an expert in STEM, create a brochure or poster that will help students and teachers understand how great a STEM education can be! Provide facts and details about your learning and what makes us different from other schools. Help them understand what a PBL is and how the engineering process can help in other areas. Good luck, they are counting on us!

Directions  Document in your notebook the answers to the following questions:  What has STEM learning meant to you?  How would you define STEM?  What is a PBL?  What are the PBLs you have liked the best?  What are the pro and con’s of a STEM learning?  What makes us different/special?  Take the 6 answers above and design either a brochure or poster.  You have 1 class period for planning/design and 1 class period for execution.  Ensure your work is neat with proper grammar and punctuation (this is for teachers!)
