Short Message Service (SMS) Secure, reliable, virtually everywhere and basically works the same regardless of handset or carrier 160 character limit (140 bytes) Binary content capable (ringtones,logos, etc) Typical uses – txt-ing, news alerts, financial information, contests, etc)
