The 4 Front Desk apps Village Seaside Ski Resort Restaurant How to use them
The apps often reach you as attachments. Send them to your mobile phone. Open your program and find the message.
Instal it Double-click on the first attachment - to install it
You will be asked whether you want to install it. Click “Install”
You will see it being installed.
Once installed, the green icon will appear on your home screen.
You can install the other three apps in the same way.
Once all 4 apps are installed, double-click the green icon of the one you want to try. This will open it.
When the app opens you will see the Start text / Help text
Click the Back button to clear the screen This is the button on your phone below your screen, on the right.
Now tap the button on your phone below your screen on the left. This displays two boxes: “Help” and “Select languages”
Click “Select languages”
In Select languages you will see 12 languages at the top. Tick or un-tick them so that the 2 or 3 languages that you want to use have the green tick.
Then, from the lower list, tick the source language: This is usually your mother tongue.
Click the Back button to return to the Search screen.
Background changed to green If your smartphone uses black text on a white background you may have difficulty in seeing the sentences and in finding the “Select languages”screen. We have now made the background green. To access “Select languages” simply tap the green icon at the extreme left of the Search box.
Tap the Search bar to display the keyboard.
Now type a few letters from a word that interests you in your source language
After a few seconds you will see some sentences displayed. The source language that you selected will be in colour.
Tap the Back button to hide the keyboard. You can now scroll up to see more sentences.
You can now scroll up to see further sentences in the same languages.
If you wish to save these sentences in your “List of useful Phrases” Tap the screen with your finger. This highlights the text, puts a frame round it, and takes you to Screen 2.
In Screen 2 If you click the button below left of your screen you see 2 boxes at the foot of the screen: “Help” and “Share”.
You can also bring up the “Share” screen by tapping the text a second time.
Share allows you to send the text to yourself: by or SMS. Tap “Share”.
To use , tap “gmail”
Here you can scroll through the entire text if you wish.
Now add your address and click the “send” button.
When you next check your s you will find the message with all the text. You can edit it and copy it into your “List of Useful Phrases”
