6 Structure of Technological Studies in High School New High School Science and Technology Curriculum · The new format of studies in the upper school requires all students to study and be tested on at least one subject in the fields of science and technology, as a requisite for the matriculation certificate. · A flexible study curriculum must be defined to enable students to study different scientific and technological subjects, in varying extents from the base level and until the expert level in accordance with their wishes and inclinations. · Development of science-based tracks and curricula in the technological track. · The technological tracks and curricula should be tailored to the needs of sophisticated industries.
7 The new 3-stage plan of studies consists of: Stage I - science or a general subject - “Science Technology Thinking” to be taught to all students. Stage II - Basic subjects for each particular field of study, such as electronics or biotechnology. Stage III - Advanced study of one of these fields.
