One-Tailed Test (statistics) A statistical test in which the critical region consists of all values of a test statistic that are less than a given value or greater than a given value, but not both. Also known as one-tail test.

Meaningful Learning is -Active Pupils construct knowledge by applying the new knowledge/information

Active Pupils’ are actively involved in their co-construction of knowledge

Intentional Goal-directed and regulatory KWL (What do I want to learn?) Pupils have an intention/purpose to find the relevant information that can help them solve the problem.

Authentic Relate the learning task to real-world contexts(ways to get fresh water in a forest) Learning is embedded in real-life and useful contexts for pupils to practice the ideas(survival skills in a forest)

Cooperative Pupils become part of the knowledge- building communities both in class and outside of school. Need to negotiate and establish intersubjectivity and methods they will use to solve the problem or accomplish the task.

Constructive According to Jonesson(2006), learners must be able articulate what they have acccomplished and reflect on their activity and observations. KWL (What I have learnt) Meaning making process

Affordances of Wiki Development of content-specific websites Processing of information by pupils instead of teachers Learning happens through the open discussion, exchange of ideas and opinions, collaborative construction and sharing of knowledge

Affordances of Wiki Pupils’ are actively involved in their co-construction of knowledge Giving and receiving feedback is quicker than the conventional methods Encourages self and peer assessment Tracking tools to track recent changes (Plagiarism and vandalism)

Issues & concerns Participants’ personal interests in the topic Their motivation to acquire new knowledge Students with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia-prone to spelling mistakes
