Presentation transcript:

 There are not many magazine in the market for house music lovers, therefore I think this magazine will have niche market, and also giving this magazine a place in the market. Also as there is not a lot of these style magazines already in the market this allows me to be able to design the magazine a certain way to make the magazine appealing to my certain target audience. This magazine will be a representation of a club to the readers, with DJS on the front cover and its main house style would be florescent pink, blue, green, yellow and black. The images used would be of lasers and strobe lights to create a more realistic club scene, to the reader. Their would not be a lot of writing on the magazine and have a lot of breathing space but the word tat are writing will be very simple and clear, for easy view to the reader. The magazine will have give away such as glow sticks and free tickets to events to encourage sales. The feature on the double page spread could include question and answers from top DJS or interviews with them, to inform the reader of their favorite DJS.

 Due to the failure of previous pop magazines, this create a gap in the market for my magazine and I will be able to analyze and take some aspects of their design and incorporate them into my own to make the magazine more appealing as a whole to the target audience. These magazine styles are all very cluttered and busy and totally goes against most theory's about magazines needing to have breathing space, this is because the age at which this magazine is aimed towards which is year olds are not of high intellectual therefore more visual aid is used to make it more appealing to them. Something which could make this magazine unique to previous magazines is feature up coming artists and keeping the readers up to date with who may be the next big star. Features in this magazine would include tour dates, Top 40 charts and gossip to make the information include what the reader wants. As this magazine will be mainly aimed towards girls, images of males will be used for ‘eye candy’ as this will encourage them to purchase the magazine and will also include female artists that they admire therefore would want to read about. The writing on the page will also be very informal as this is what the reader would want to have and slang words would be used. The font style will san serif which are without stokes on them allowing the writing to be very bold and bright making it easier to read and attractive to reader. The house style of the page would be girly colors such as pink, as this would make them want to purchase the magazine

 This magazine will be aimed towards the older generation, mainly having 80’s music as this is what the target audience would be interested in most. As this magazine is aimed towards 30+ age and so they would most want to listen to this type of music the most and therefore read about it, as it would consist tribute to some music legends in music but also include up to date classical music singers. The language in this magazine will be very formal and consist of more words then images. The front cover would be very clean and tidy suggesting sophisticated and intelligent also the font will be serif which is when it has stokes on the font making it look more sophisticated writing to help reflect the reader. The magazine will include feature such as ‘stories of tour classical hero's’ as this would be something that the target audience would want to read about. The colors on this magazine will be dark reds, white and gold suggest royalmasts and elegance. This magazine is already in the market so this would not give this magazine a gap in the market.

 I decided to go with IDEA 2 the reason for this is because when getting feedback from my peers it was clear that the pop magazine has the biggest gap in the market due to the failure of previous magazines, but their are many house and classical music magazines already in the market. So there will be less competition in the market. I am therefore going to design a Pop magazine, as I think that out of all the ideas it has the biggest market, it will be similar to ‘smash hits’ and ‘top of the pops’. The colour scheme will be very vibrant and colour full with girly colours as this magazine is mainly aimed towards young girls. The font style used will be san serif mainly as this is much more clearer and less sophisticated therefore more suitable for the reader. As it also allows words to be more clearer. The magazine will be cluttered yet legible to the reader on the shelf having more images then writing. The reason why I am going to do this as my peers said ‘if their was a pop music magazine again I would buy it’, ‘ I think that their is a big gap in the market for pop magazines’, so from this feedback I have made my decision to go ahead with the pop music magazine.
