Technology A Technology Study was taken in May 2014 by Innovative Educator Consulting – Naomi Harm – Upgrade WiFi Infrastucture – Quality Mobile Teaching and Learning Devices – 5-7 iPads for PreK-Grade 3 – 5 Desktop Computers for PreK-Grade 3 – Chromebooks for Grades 4-12 – Google Apps for Education – Staff & Grades 4-12 – Upgrade Computers for All Staff – Smart Board for All Classrooms
Changes Necessary to Implement Technology Updates – New Network Servers – Comprehensive Filter and Firewall – Staff Training
Building & Grounds Energy Efficiency – Heating Plant LP Gas Boiler -- Geo-Thermal Efficient Room Uni-Vents Steam Heat to Hot Water – Significant savings as steam requires 220 degrees F as compared to hot water heat which can be effective at temperatures as low as 120 degrees F. Digital Controls (currently using 62 year old pneumatic) – Time of day, room occupancy, different temperature setting
Building & Grounds – Building Changes for Energy Efficiency Thermal Pane Windows - Replace old windows as was done in 1987 (current windows are single pane) Lighting Motors
Maintenance & Upgrades Roofing – Most areas are good for years – An area equal to ½ of the elementary school area is due for replacement within the next two years. Parking Lot – Repair cracks & re-seal
Maintenance – Replacement & Repairs Flooring – replace original 1952 flooring in 4 classrooms. Update Family & Consumer Ed Room Dust Collection System in Shop Elementary Windbreak Entrance New Gym Windbreak Entrance Paint Building Kitchen Dishwasher System
Transportation – 2 buses to be replaced within next 3 years – 1 van to be replaced
Area School Tax Levies through
