Bathrooms

Half-Baths AKA Powder Rooms Contains only a sink and a toilet. Where are ½ baths usually located?

Full Baths Has a minimum of a sink, a toilet, and a bathtub.

¾ Bath Refers to a bathroom with a sink, a toilet, and a shower, but no tub.

Master Bath A full bath that is part of the master bedroom. Often borrows design elements from the adjoining master.

Bathrooms If a home only has 1 bathroom, it should be a full or ¾ bath located off the main hallway. If there is more than one bathroom, the most common arrangement is to locate at least one full bath in or near the sleeping areas and a ½ bath near the living area.

Bathroom Components- Sinks Wall Hung – has open space beneath, which helps make a small bathroom seem roomier. Pedestal Sink- supported by a freestanding base. Many pedestal sinks are artfully shaped, make them look like a sculpture. Inset- set into a counter top with storage beneath the counter. Above the counter- looks like a decorative wash bowl set on the counter.

Showers Tub- an installed showerhead above the tub. Stall Shower- walk in units with no tubs

Tub Freestanding- separate unit that is not built into the wall. Enclosed- tub that is enclosed on 3 out of the 4 walls that is either sunken into the floor or built into a platform Whirlpool-include water jets for massaging.

Toilet/Water Closet Can be mounted on the floor or on the wall. Building codes in some states require new or replacement toilets to be ultra low flush (ULF)
