Presentation transcript:

GRAY WATER SYSTEM Historically, plumbing codes did not attempt to distinguish between greywater, which can be thought of as all wastewater generated in households or office buildings that does not contain fecal matter such as water from bathroom sinks, showers, baths, washing machines and blackwater which is water from toilets, kitchen sinks and dishwashers.

WATER RECYCLING SYSTEM Grey water recycling systems vary in size and complexity from simple drip irrigation and laundry to landscape systems to solutions using pumps, filtration devices and storage tanks. There are on-line instructions and kits for do-it-yourselfers as well as any number of regional and national companies that provide the components and in most cases installation of water recycling systems.

GRAY WATER RECYCLING Gray water recycling is not a passing fad. It is a viable water conservation strategy that is gaining attention from homeowners, conservationists, state governors, and departments of water across the country and around the world. If you are considering installing a residential greywater recycling system, there are some key facts you should know.

RESIDENTIAL GREYWATER SYSTEMS Residential greywater can be described as water that has been used in the shower, bathtub, or clothes washing machine that is clean enough to be reused. When recycled through the use of residential greywater systems, this water can be reused for other purposes such as landscape or crop irrigation and for indoor purposes such as flushing toilets.
