Interesting Facts At birth a joey, or a baby koala, is the size of a jelly bean. They have two thumbs on each hand. Koalas don’t eat leaves off of many eucalyptus trees. A koala sleeps more than sixteen hours per day. In the north they weigh eleven pounds.
Information A female koala carries her baby in her pouch for about six months.
