Big Question (for Scientific Explanation) How Does Food Provide My Body with Energy? Rough Draft Due: November 19 th and 20 th Final Due: December 10 th and 11 th Requirements: Claim Evidence (minimum of 10)-one or more from each lesson Reasoning

Learning Goals Write a scientific explanation that includes a claim, evidence, and reasoning. Explain that burning reactions convert energy into light and thermal energy.

Activity 8.1-What Does Food Need to Burn? Background: For food to provide energy to the cells, it must go through a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction that provides energy from food molecules to the cells is very similar to burring food. Both use oxygen and produce carbon dioxide and convert energy.

Activity 8.1-What Does Food Need to Burn? IQWST: Question 1 As a table, complete a scientific explanation to the following question: What happens to fat stored in the body when people lose weight? Requirements: Claim-5 minutes Evidence-5 minutes Reasoning-5 minutes

Pack everything up. Please put markers/crayons/col ored pencils back where they belong.
