Presentation transcript:

 Imagine you’re a movie producer….  You’ve heard of this incredible, important historical event/person/battle/etc…  You know that this story MUST BE TOLD so you are advertising your new movie!  Every movie requires planning…….

 You are going to create a promotional movie poster and summary about a person or event from United States History ( ). You will design a poster using a poster board (not provided) or other large piece of paper.  OR you may choose to do a DVD case or other form of media to advertise your upcoming movie release in the theaters.  If you choose to use technology, you must be familiar with it, you must be able to upload it into net school, and you must make sure that I am able to access it when you upload it into net school. For example, you may need to make sure something is made “public” so I can view it.  THE POSTER MUST: 15 pts HAVE A CLEAR TITLE 10 pts HAVE A CAST OF CHARACTERS 15 pts ILLUSTRATIONS 60 pts HISTORICAL MOVIE REVIEW*  * Must include a summary of the event or person. Must include accurate historical information about the person/battle/event/etc... Think who, what, when, where, why and maybe how. This will demonstrate your understanding. The summary must be written BEFORE you begin the creative portion.

 Anything/anyone we have covered this year  Use the textbook and your journals for ideas  Possible Topics: George Washington Thomas Jefferson Lewis and Clark Expedition John Brown Samuel Adams John Adams Thomas Paine Andrew Jackson Jamestown/Plymouth Ulysses S. Grant Eli Whitney Paul Revere Boston Massacre Clara Barton Harriet Tubman Sojourner Truth Frederick Douglas Benjamin Franklin Mercy Otis Warren Crispus Attucks William Penn Mexican War Boston Tea party War of 1812 American Revolution Battles Bunker Hill Saratoga Yorktown Civil War Battles Antietam Bull Run Gettysburg Vicksburg Reconstruction Abraham Lincoln French and Indian War Trail of Tears California Gold Rush Underground Railroad Ironclads Valley Forge Anyone or anything else – be sure to clear with me!

 I will provide manila paper or large white paper.  Poster Board – Must provide your own  Yes, you may print out pictures but you must do that AT HOME. We will not print them at school.  You may draw your pictures and they must be colored.  You may type your summary or other information to glue on but again, you must print it at home.  Be creative!  This is a summative project – do your best.

 You must use my template provided in moodle.  You may not change it in any way.  Must be uploaded into drop box by the due date  Must include all of the required information –  Title  Cast  Minimum 2 pictures – 1 on the front and 1 on the back  Summary  Be creative!  Remember, this is a summative project – do your best.  You may also add the “extra’s” that usually on a dvd/blu-ray case such as director, producer, run time, rating (must be G, PG or PG-13 ONLY), etc…. Look at the back of a movie case.

 You must clear any other media choice with me BEFORE you begin your project. You may know of others you’d like to use besides the ones on the next slide. Be sure it’s something you have used before.  If you choose to use technology, you must be familiar with it, must be able to upload it into moodle, and you must make sure that I am able to access it. For example, you may need to make sure something is made “public” so I can view it.

 Summary must be written BEFORE the creative stuff!  SUMMATIVE: Due Monday, May th 23– Final project (Beginning of class)  May be turned in earlier
