“empowered” GRACE

Matthew 8:8-13 Only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

2 Timothy 1:7 not the spirit of fear, but the spirit of power… What is meant by a “spirit of power”? He is using the Greek word, dunamis; Consider the Hebrew mind-set / culture: – “strength” though not limited to physical prowess. – with the general idea of “influence”. – where someone has influence over another. – sufficiency…meant not lacking.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 grace most gladly He said to me, "My grace is sufficient(cy) for you, for My strength is made perfect in weak- ness." Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in re- proaches, in needs, in persecutions, in dis- tresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

To be Empowered… You’re better off needing grace & favor; being weak rather than strong You’re better off boasting of your infirmities rather than of your strengths You’re better off acknowledging you’re wrong rather than always being right. You’re better off accepting your imperfections rather than pretending you’re perfect You’re better off being a “Leader under Grace” rather than a “Leader under Law”.
