Why do religions use myths and narratives

What stories do you know of? Why are stories used?

There is no 100% proof that the story is true, so what is the point of the story? The purpose of the story is to educate children about the events of Jesus’ miracle birth and the future that it foretold.

After watching the story can you tell what the meaning behind the story is. Is there a moral? Why would religions use stories like these?

Ninian Smart states that to make a religion a religion it must have a mythical narrative dimension. Why do you think that Ninian Smart states that this must be present for a religion to be a religion?
