Conceptual Design  The National Building Regulations makes provision for two design approaches which can be adopted when designing the fire protection measures for a building, namely:  Compliance with prescriptive rules as laid down in SABS 0400 Code of Practice or  Performance-based design (also called Rational design)

Conceptual Design  We advise our clients:  To the required fire protection measures for a building in terms of the SABS 0400 Code of Practice or  The results of a performance-based assessment of the building  These requirements are detailed at a conceptual level by way of documents, details and notes, providing an overview of the design solution selected

Detailed Design  Automatic sprinkler installations  Fire detection systems  Smoke ventilation systems (mechanical or natural)  Gaseous suppression systems (eg. Inergen, Argonite, FM-200 etc.)  Fire water reticulation systems  Statutory emergency signage Active Fire Systems

Detailed Design  Adequacy, geometry, positioning and distribution of means of escape  Statutory emergency signage provision  Specification of locking devices, special risk fire protection (hazardous substances, flammable liquids, etc.)  These systems are designed to meet with the local or international standards as required by our clients and their insurers Passive Fire Safety Measures
