WHAT ARE THE 7 PRINCIPLES IN ENGLISH LEARNING ? MA. DEL CARMEN AGUIRRE Colegio José Escandón La Salle

.-TEACHERS AND RULES Know your learners and their experiential background. Allow the students build their own brain storm.

.- IDENTIFY LEARNING OUTCOMES Create a grouping warm up in which they share ideas. Supervise what level your ss. need to complete your objective. Be ready to start.

.- DO IT TO LEARN Maintain and make explicit the same learning outcomes for all the learners. Involve the Ss in the activities. Let them act about the lesson vocabulary and display it through the classroom. Now, ss. are ready to read and reflect about the information they have collected.

.- EFFECTIVE STUDENTS S.L.R.W ( s peaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing) Think Pair – Share Helping using audio tapes and videos Completing a script and sharing Give them time to stop and think

.- CRITICAL LEVELS IN THE CLASS Environment talk each other 90%. STOP while read and empower them to say I DO. Provide opportunities and supervise if they are using the key vocabulary during their practice.

.- ENSURE A BALANCE Practice specific strategies to know how much comprehension they developed through the lesson. (productive and receptive language) To scaffold provide material with essential support and assistance. Verbal modeling. Think aloud and practice with them.

.- MONITORING AND SELF-EVALUATION Observe and Evaluate if the students are ready to apply in context what they have learned. Keep always in mind the importance and helpful use of a KWL chart, Concept Map, and a Collaborative Posters.
