A Brief History Before 1996: informal meetings on Supersymmetry in the Paris region (Binétruy, Fayet, Grivaz, Ellwanger et al) 1996: new CNRS structure Groupement de Recherche (virtual lab with a lifetime of 4+4 years maximum) creation of the GDR Superymétrie (Director: Pierre Binétruy) 2000: re-creation of the GDR Supersymétrie as EuroGDR (Director Pierre Binétruy) 2004 extension of the GDR Superymétrie as GDR (Director Jean Orloff) 2008: administrative end of the GDR Supersymétrie end of 2008: creation of GDR Terascale ( )

A Brief History GDR Terascale formal steps: 2 directors (one theorist: Abdelhak, one experimentalist: Dirk) summer 2008: nominated members of the conseil du groupement with help from conseil nominate group coordinators write the proposal (coordinators) autumn 2008: submitted proposal to IN2P3 (accepted by IN2P3 board of directors) IN2P3 submitted scientific part of the proposal to board 03 commission 03: positive evaluation (! tell Sarkozy, please) winter 2008/2009: formal creation of GDR by CNRS (Journal Officiel) spring 2009: kick-off meeting LPSC Grenoble April 1: budget decided by IN2P3
